the korean story of the little mermaid is that she must kill the prince in order to be human, and instead in the end, she loves him too much and kills herself instead.
That’s not just the Korean story, but the actual ending of Hans Christian Andersen classic tale (BTW he’s the original author) it’s a sad/pathetic tale. As usual Disney modified it.
